KoAct&trade Mineral Collagen Chelate Granted United States Patent
City of Industry, CA 91748 – The United States Patent and Trademark Office has awarded AIDP, Inc. a patent for Mineral Collagen Chelates, their applications and manufacturing methods.
A new mineral delivery form, using Collagen as a substrate, has received United States Patent 7,495,076.
Collagen appears to provide superior mineral delivery in certain applications, while also delivering much-needed collagen. Collagen is a fibrous protein that is the main structural component in bone, skin and cartilage and is often lacking in today’s diet.
A calcium version of this patented material is available as KoAct&trade Calcium Collagen Chelate.
Animal Study Results
An animal study performed at a Japanese university compared KoAct™ Calcium against an equivalent amount of calcium and a simple mixture of collagen and calcium.
"We were surprised by the tangible results of calcium chelation using the collagen delivery matrix," says Dave Dannenhold, Vice President of Sales. "The bone mineral density increased by over 9% in the KoAct™ group, vs. groups with an equal amount of calcium and a calcium/collagen mixture. KoAct™ Calcium is the only product that brings both bone structure components together in a most natural and bioavailable way. KoAct™ Calcium is not just a calcium product. It is a true bone-building product."
Other Applications
The patent also covers a number of other mineral collagen chelates, including magnesium, zinc and iron.
